ADF Anomaly Classification Guide

Anomalous Behaviors

1) Dimensional

1.1) Non-Euclidean Space [NES]

1.1.1) NES-I: Distortional

- An area which has been compressed, stretched, or otherwise modified to where the internal and external volumes do not match.

1.1.2) NES-II: Transportational

- A rift, portal, or teleportation which leads to another location.

1.2) Non-Euclidean Time [NET]

1.2.1) NET-I: Distortional

- A compression, dilation, reversal, or halting of time. Distinguish from "NET-II," where the transformation of time is not continuous; NET-II anomalies allow for sudden jumps from one time to another.

1.2.2) NET-II: Transportational

- A rift, portal, or teleportation which leads to another period of time. Distinguish from "NET-I," where the transformation of time is continuous; NET-I anomalies do not allow for sudden jumps from one time to another.

1.3) Gravitational Manipulation [Grav]

- A strengthening, weakening, or redirection of gravity.

1.4) Electric-Magnetic Disturbance [EMD]

- Abnormal alterations, constructive or destructive, to the electromagnetic field (note the distinction from "electromagnetic disturbance," as this is unrelated to electromagnetic radiation, AKA light).

1.5) Luminous Disturbance [LD]

- Amplifies, mitigates, or otherwise alters the surrounding light, including invisable light.

2) Material

2.1) Material Creation [MaC]

- Creation of new matter. Does not require a fuel sorce.

2.2) Material Destruction [MaD]

- Deletion of matter. Does not require a release of energy.

2.3) Material Reconstruction [MaR]

2.3.1) MaR-I: Internal

- Modifies the shape, properties, and/or material of itself.

2.3.2) MaR-II: External

- Modifies the shape, properties, and/or material of other objects.

2.4) Material Transportation [MaT]

- Movement of objects without physical contact. Must be a "continuous translation;" No sudden jumps across space (contrast to NES-II).

3) Perceptive

3.1) Hallucinatory

3.1.1) Visual Hallucination [HaV]

- Visions which do not match reality.

3.1.2) Sonic Hallucination [HaS]

- Sounds which do not match reality.

3.1.3) Tactile Hallucination [HaT]

- Physical sensations which do not match reality.

3.1.4) Olfactory Hallucination [HaO]

- Smells which do not match reality.

3.1.5) Gusatory Hallucination [HaG]

- Tastes which do not match reality.

3.2) Perceptive Animacy [PA]

3.2.1) PA-I: True

- Only moves when percieved.

3.2.2) PA-II: False

- Only moves when not percieved.

3.3) Locosthesia [Loc]

3.3.1) Loc-I: Internal

- Can detect the position of objects without a need for other senses.

3.3.2) Loc-II: External

- Can be detected or "sensed" by a person without any of their natural senses.

3.4) Telepathy [Tel]

- Can detect one's thoughts and/or communicate telepathically. Distinguish from "Hive Mentality" where several instances of one anomaly have shared thoughts.

3.5) Hive Mentality [HM]

- Several instances of one entity share a single consciousness/recollection. Distinguish from "Telepathy," where the entities have seperate thoughts.

4) Psychological

4.1) Hypnosis [Hyp]

- Makes one act against their will, sometimes without recollection on their behalf.

4.2) Emotional Manipulation [EmMa]

- Changes one's current emotions, opinions, and/or beliefs.

4.3) Recollective Manipulation [Rec]

4.3.1) Rec-I: Destructive

- Removes one's memories.

4.3.2) Rec-II) Constructive

- Creates false memories. False memories can be alterations of original memories or fully sythetic.

ADF Saftey Ratings

{ADF-SR Formatting: Danger - Agression - Sentience - Containment - Misc Tags}

Danger

[0] Harmless - No threat.

[1] Safe - Non-lethal. Minor injury risk.

[2] Mild - Injury risk. Death is rare, but technically possible.

[3] Hazardous - High injury risk. Can lead to death with poor equipment/training.

[4] Dangerous - Fairly deadly. Special equipment/training required for interaction.

[5] Avoided - Extremely lethal. Avoid interaction at all costs.

Aggression

[0] Docile - Never agressive.

[1] Passive - Not naturally agressive. Hard to provoked.

[2] Semi-Passive - Not naturally agressive. Easy to provoke.

[3] Semi-Active - Naturally agressive. Easy to quell.

[4] Active - Naturally agressive. Hard to quell.

[5] Irate - Always agressive.

Sentience

[0] Inanimate - Fully inanimate. No signs of sentience whatsoever.

[1] Programed - Animate, but not autonomous; Has predetermined motions, often based on inputs/interactions.

[2] Animate - Both animate and autonomous, but shows no signs of consciousness.

[3] Sentient - Animate and shows signs of consciousness/perception. Not considered intelligent.

[4] Intelligent - Conscious. Shows basic logic and reasoning skills.

[5] Sapient - Conscious and self-aware. Shows human-level intelect, such as language and emotion.

Containment

[0] Self-Contained - Exhibits no anomalous behaviours if left alone.

[1] Cooperative - Easy to contain, seldom breaches.

[2] Stubborn - Hard to contain, but seldom breaches once contained.

[3] Monitored - Can breach containment with relative ease.

[4] Supressed - Must be actively prevented from breaching containment.

[5] Uncontainable - True or total containment may be impossible.

Miscellaneous Tags

[C] Contaminant - Can cause otherwise non-anomalous items to gain anomalous properties.

[E] External - Contained (or to be contained) outside of the facility.

[L] Loose - Not currently contained.
